SBSA Training Programs
Welcome to our new Training page. On this page, you will find information regarding training opportunities for coaches, players, and umpires throughout the year.
THE SBSA TRAINING CENTER WILL BE CLOSED FOR A FEW MONTHS FOLLOWING THE KNOTHOLE CITY TOURNAMENT IN JULY. THANK YOU FOR USING THE FACILITY THIS SEASON. WE WILL BE WORKING ON IMPROVEMENTS TO BOTH THE FACILITY AND THE SCHEDULING OF ITS USE DURING THE OFFSEASON AND WILL BE SOLICITING FEEDBACK FROM COACHES THAT USED THE FACILITY THIS SPRING/SUMMER.

SBSA Training Center
We are pleased to announce two new partnerships that will allow SBSA to provide year-round training opportunities. The City of Blue Ash is providing SBSA with a large space in the basement of the newly remodeled Blue Ash Recreation Center which SBSA is in the process of building out into a training area. This area will be covered with artificial turf and will have a 70' x 20' pitching area that will accomodate 3 pitching mound/catching tunnels. A separate 55' x 21' area will be used for hitting training and will have an area for soft toss, tee work, and a L-cage screen. Light infielding practice can take place in the pitching area. This space is ONLY AVAILABLE TO COACHES AND PLAYERS THAT HAVE REGISTERED TO PLAY BASEBALL OR SOFTBALL THROUGH THE SYCAMORE BASEBALL AND SOFTBALL ASSOCIATION.
Team Practices at the SBSA Training Center
Teams at the C-1 Division and higher are now able to book practice time at the SBSA Training Center by clicking on the following web link: Team Practice Request Form Each team may book up to 2 hours per week during the months of January through March. For in season (April - June) use of the facility, each team from the D-2 level and above will be given one hour per week in the training center. This hour will be assigned by each league coordinator based on feedback from the coaches. Champions Lessons Now at the SBSA Training Center!
CHAMPIONS LESSONS ARE NOW OVER FOR THE SEASON AS OF 4/12/10. IF YOU WOULD LIKE A LESSON WITH A CHAMPIONS INSTRUCTOR, FEEL FREE TO CONTACT THEM AT THEIR MILFORD FACILITY. THANKS, SBSA BOARD
SBSA is also partnering with Champions Baseball Academy to provide SBSA players with discounted individual, group, and team training opportunities. Champions instructors will be available to teach lessons on Mondays from 3:00 - 10:00 during the months of February, March, and April. You can find bios of the Champions instructors at their web site by clicking HERE. Champions Baseball Academy recently closed down their facility on Kemper Rd but still operates a facility on US 50 in Milford. This is a fantastic opportunity to receive lessons from former pro and collegiate players right in our own backyard! Coaching Clinic
SBSA will be conducting its coaching clinic in conjunction with Champions this year at our new indoor training center on Saturday, March 13th from 9:00 - 12:00. At that time, a refreshed training program will be conducted by Champions staff for SBSA coaches who will be trained on how to conduct efficient and fun practices for their teams. In addition, Champions instructors will demonstrate proper batting, pitching, catching, and throwing techniques so that our coaches will be better equipped to teach SBSA players.
Umpire Training
SBSA will provide Umpire Training in the new SBSA Training Center on the first four Wednesdays in March from 7:00 - 9:00. Our umpire supervisors will be contacting those that registered to be an umpire on our web site during February to notify them of this program.
