Champions Fall Baseball League and Instruction
by SBSA posted 07/19/2010

It is time again for Fall baseball and SBSA has partnered with Champions Baseball Academy to provide the best Fall baseball experience possible.  Fall baseball should not be about producing a great won loss record, it should be about learning and growing as a player.  Champions will be offering both fall workouts and a fall ball league.

Our fall partnership with Champions offers players the opportunity to workout once a week for four weeks with high school and college coaches.  Workouts will be conducted in three individual areas:  hitting, fielding, and pitching.  Your player may sign up for any area of instruction for $25, or all three areas for $60.  That is just $25 for four weeks worth of workouts with high school and college coaches in a single area, or $60 for for four weeks worth of workouts in all three areas.

Fall baseball league games will take place on weekends and will start the weekend before Labor Day and will be five weeks total.  The fee for the fall baseball league is $99 per player for the Junior High and up league and $75 for the 9-10 year old and 11-12 year old leagues.  Teams that come in with twelve players get a $10 discount per player.  Tee-shirt uniforms, umpire fees, and balls are included, there are no hidden costs.

My team has participated in this program since the 2006 season.  We have been Knothole league champions and played in the Knothole tournament every year since, with a tournament championship this year.  This is the only Fall baseball opportunity built around player instruction and development.  It is far and away the best choice.

Please check out the following brochures for more detailed information:

Miracles for Mason
by SBSA posted 06/04/2010

Please read an excerpt below from the Miracles for Mason blog about Sycamore student and SBSA player Mason McNary who was severely injured in an accident in early May.  Mason's Dad Kyle coaches his D-2 baseball team.  If you would like to help the family or learn more about Mason's recovery, please click on the following link to access the blog where more information can be found.  http://miraclesformason.blogspot.com/

On Saturday morning, May 8, 2010, 9-year-old Mason McNary, a fourth grader at Blue Ash Elementary, was attacked by 2 dogs while playing outside. Mason suffered multiple injuries to his legs, stomach, back, shoulder, arms, neck, face, and ear. Mason was transported by Air Care to Cincinnati Children’s Hospital Medical Center, where he is still in Intensive Care. Mason has already had 2 surgeries, and will undergo a series of reconstructive and plastic surgeries, followed by at least a year of intense physical therapy. Mason’s doctors are hopeful that after his surgeries and physical therapy he may regain full use of his left leg, shoulder & arm and will hopefully walk again.

Mason’s health is gradually improving, thanks to a wonderful team of doctors, and the love, support and prayers of many friends, family members and the community as a whole. In order to continue to provide Mason and his family with the medical care and support they need at this time, a benefit fund called “Miracles for Mason” has been set up. A team of volunteers will be coordinating multiple efforts to raise money for the family in the coming months.
